Anointed Talk

Welcome all Anointed Jehovah’s Witnesses and those who would like to talk with you!

Anointed Talk is a place for the Anointed of Jehovah’s Witnesses to talk to each other and for others of us to get a chance to talk to you.  And why not?  We have been told that no one else is listening to you.  Is this true?   The The Watchtower, 5/15/00, p. 11 says, “anointed Witnesses of Jehovah have been blessed with insight, enabling them to understand…”  (See complete quote below).  Yet to what avail is this special insight?  Does the Governing Body care what the Anointed have to say?  Do they ask for the opinion and spiritual insight of the anointed?  Sadly, we are getting reports from Anointed JWs, indicating they are being disrespected, ridiculed and made fun of.  They tell us that they are even being discouraged from partaking of the memorial.  Is it true that the elders and others just don’t believe that those who claim they are anointed really are?  That they do not respect insights of those claiming to be anointed?  Are the anointed who express a different point of view labeled an Apostate?  Is what we are hearing true?  Is this the norm or just unusual examples coming our way?

Why doesn’t the Governing Body consult the anointed?  Why aren’t they interested in their opinion?  Why is the Watchtower writing department adding more writers that are not anointed?  Are the Anointed a perceived threat to the power structure that must be diminished?  After all, shouldn’t JWs being looking to the anointed for spiritual guidance as opposed to Elders, Circuit Overseers and District Overseers?  Is the JW power structure trying to minimize and belittle their influence?  Is this really all just about power and who is in control?

We are not trying to incite the Anointed to rise up and rebel and fight the system.  The Lord’s anointed are a humble and meek people.  Yet we understand that if anyone expresses a difference of opinion, whether anointed or not, they are in danger of being labeled an apostate.   So, how then can the anointed be in any position to provide spiritual insights.  If it is only to tell everyone else to follow the organization, then couldn’t any JW member do that?  So then of what value are the anointed in the JW Organization?  It only seems to make sense that elders and leaders in the JW organization would desire, in humility, to look to the anointed for spiritual guidance.

What do you think?  What is really going on.  Let us know what you think.  This is a place to talk.  We want to hear from everyone, but especially from the anointed ones, whether presently JWs or whether you have been driven out of the organization.  Please enlighten us and tell us the truth of what is happening.  Here you can talk to each other and help each other out.

Full quote:  “Daniel 12:4 states: “As for you, O Daniel, make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant.” Much of what Daniel wrote was made secret and sealed up to human understanding for centuries. But what about today?

6 In this time of the end, many faithful Christians have ‘roved about’ in the pages of God’s Word, the Bible. The result? With Jehovah’s blessing on their efforts, true knowledge has become abundant. For instance, anointed Witnesses of Jehovah have been blessed with insight, enabling them to understand that Jesus Christ became heavenly King in the year 1914. In keeping with the apostle’s words recorded at 2 Peter 1:19-21, such anointed ones and their loyal companions are ‘paying attention to the prophetic word’ and are absolutely certain that this is the time of the end.” – “The Watchtower, 5/15/00, p. 11.

      Hi KD

I hope these verses are encouraging for you.

“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us, and His love is made complete in us” (1 John 4:11-12).

How does a person know they are anointed. for real. I will answer that soon. because only 144000 are in Gods kingdom that make it to the marriage supper with Christ. is this bible students believe as Jehovah’s witnesses do

    • Peter K. (admin)

You ask, “How does a person know they are anointed?” I look forward to your answer. In the meantime, here is how we answer:
      https://www.beyondwatchtower.com/2022/01/20/how-do-i-know-if-i-have-the-holy-spirit/

Let me just give some preliminary food for thought. How do you know you have a conscience. A conscience is invisible. You can’t touch it or see it. Except that your conscience reveals itself by your behavior and actions. If you steel or lie, that little voice inside tells you that this is wrong. That is how you know you have a conscience. The same is true with the Holy Spirt. It will change your life, behavior and actions in ways shown in the link provided. Let us know what you think.

The great tribulation coming maybe soon what do you think Jehovah’s witnesses Judgement message be and what will it be based on ?. will it be right or wrong.

    • Peter K. (admin)

Hi friend – Regarding the Great Tribulation, I think the best approach would be to look up the related scriptures to determine what they say and do not say, then as well if you want, to compare and contrast with what JW.Org says.

      Daniel 12:1-4
1 “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Here we have Michael (meaning “who is as God) standing up. Associated with this great Time of Trouble are four signs being fulfilled in our day:
      1) Time of Trouble such as never was – Trouble has been on a global scale now for over a hundred years i.e. World Wars I & II, the Cold War, the Covid crisis, etc.
      2) Daniel’s people (Israel) delivered – In process. Israel becomes a nation in 1948
      3) Many run to and fro – trains, planes and automobiles
      4) knowledge increased – modern technology, internet, satellites, etc.

Much more we can discuss, but this is a start. What do you think?

      • Anonymous

Do you think the great time of the end will come in our life time.

        • Peter K. (admin)

Anonymous – Sometimes it is difficult to see the forest through the trees, but we need to backup and look at the big picture.

Daniel 12:1 describes “a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation.” In connection with this, we have…

          * Dan 12:1 “thy people [Israel] delivered” – Israel became a nation in 1948
          * Dan 12:4 “many shall run to and fro” – Transportation and communication – trains, planes, automobiles, telephones, etc.
          * Dan 12:4 “Knowledge shall increase” – technology, internet, computers, etc.

We have been living through this period now for over a hundred years. 1 Thess 5:3 describes this time of trouble: “For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman.”

Labor pains become more frequent and severe over time. We have been experiencing this for over 100 years with WWI, WW2, the Great Depression, the Cold War, Iraq and Afghanistan wars, 9/11 2001, 2008 financial bail out, etc.

People don’t tend to see Bible Prophecy playing out before them as Satan has darkened the perception of humanity (Isa 60:2). Even the disciples lost hope even after Jesus had explained to them several times that he must suffer and die. It is hard to see the forest (big picture) through the trees (of experiences in our personal lives).

So the trouble will continue to get worse, but he labor pains bring in the birth of God’s kingdom on earth.

Personally, I believe that we are eclipsing into massive global turmoil in the next couple of years, but that is is not the final labor pain and that there will be some years of rest after that before the next server labor pain, perhaps Ezekiel 38-39.

blood what does blood mean in the Bible. blood of an animal is not to be eaten or drank in pagan rituals. not to have blood that tries to compete with Jesus Christ blood the Passover Lamb.. in Egypt the blood of a lamb was put on the doorpost to house put on the door post of houses and death did not come to that house on the night of Passover. Jehovah’s witnesses abstain from all forms of blood including transfusions of blood. the Bible is very serious about blood because blood is life and when you are born you receive blood from your mother into your body whether or not God intended for blood transfusions or not in this world is up to the individual to decide because blood is sacred to Jehovah and Jesus Christ blood is the blood that gives us everlasting life. I myself have never had a blood transfusion and never will I will follow the governing by his rules abstaining from blood I believe it’s a person’s personal choice a medical involvement of what kind of treatment that person wants. I have partaken of the everlasted life of Jesus Christ and the word of Jehovah God is in my mouth forever. have Jesus Christ blood in your heart as we go through the great tribulations very soon all Jehovah’s witnesses and any Bible student from Charles taze Russell class. and all those in the whole wide world. Jehovah God and Jesus Christ be with God’s people forever.

The grave yard is full of Jehovah;s witnesses who won’t accept a blood Transfusion were there lives were cut short. they will accept a heart which pumps blood. the bible does not want you to eat blood we not talking about eating blood we are talking about a simple medical way of you not dyeing early. saving your life the blood of Able cry from the ground he was killed by murder. abstain from murder is the meaning abstain from blood. its a commandment not to murder. blood transfusion is a way to cause you to live in this world .medical practice,. its okay not to carry a blood death card.

    • Peter K. (admin)

      Hi Anointed,

Your point to abstain from murder is well taken. As “abstain from blood” is used in the scripture below, I think it relates to the Old Testament prohibition of consuming blood.

Acts 15:29 (Amplified) “that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from [consuming] blood, and from [eating the meat of] things that have been strangled, and from sexual impurity. If you keep yourselves from these things, you will do well. Farewell.”

      • Steven A (Christian)

        Dear Peter K.,

Further to your comments at the ‘Welcome’ page:

        https://www.beyondwatchtower.com/welcome/

(March 19, 2023 at 10:39 am) in response to my comments (March 18, 2023 at 12:12 pm), I felt I should reply here to some of the questions you raised.

Firstly, I am in no way giving anyone medical advice. What each individual chooses to do, in relation to blood, is their business—between them and God. Disfellowshipping individuals on the basis of a personal medical decision related to blood is also, in my opinion, wrong and completely unscriptural—consider [F195]:

‘The Nominal vs. the Real New Creation

….All this is different in human organizations in proportion as they have ignored or abandoned the simplicity of the divine arrangement. They have made arbitrary rules respecting who may be acknowledged as members or branches of the Vine, and who may not be admitted to the full fellowship; they have made financial exactions and various rules and regulations which the Scriptures have not made, and laid down numerous creeds and confessions which the Scriptures have not laid down, and have prescribed penalties [F199] for violations of these which the Scriptures have not imposed, and have made regulations for disfellowshipping, excommunicating, etc., contrary to any authorization given to the True Church, the Body of Christ, the True Vine, the New Creation.’

In this respect the modern day Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (which was simply a for profit business in the days of Charles T. Russell) is guilty of most things mentioned in the above quote.

The Society frequently disfellowships individuals due to violations of ‘prescribed penalties’ which the Scriptures have not imposed. They have made regulations for disfellowshipping contrary to any authorisation given, etc.

On the matter of blood, to have a better legal standing in some countries (specifically Bulgaria). The Watchtower Society cynically changed the rules to ensure their religious organisation was able to be re-registered in that country.

To put it simply, individual Witnesses were once previously disfellowshipped for taking blood transfusions, but today they are conveniently ‘disassociating’ themselves by taking blood transfusions—thus, the Organisation is no longer ‘judicially’ dealing with them (technically in accordance with the agreement made with the Bulgarian government), but the outcome is the same. Thus, the average Jehovah’s Witness is still informed that a blood transfusion is *not* a decision of conscience, and that to have one will basically result in the same outcome (a form of coercion) as being disfellowshipped (potentially cut off from friends, family, etc.).

Having said that, I will return to your comments. However, before responding further to your questions, I’d like to ask a few of my own and receive a response:

        1. Does the Scriptural admonition to ‘abstain from blood’ relate to animal blood only? Explain.

        2. Can a Christian make food out of donated human blood (blood sausages, etc.), and eat (or drink) donated blood—if not, why not and what Scriptures would you use to support this (basically, explain)?

        3. Are the Scriptures dealing with the blood of dead animals only? If no, does this mean a Christian (or Jew) can drain a bit of blood from an animal (while preserving the animal alive), and drink its blood, or turn the drained blood of the living animal into food to eat? Explain.

        You stated:

‘It is difficult for me to find direct guidance on this topic in the Bible since blood transfusions were not a possibility in Biblical times.’

There are a lot of things the Bible doesn’t given guidance on, and so one can wonder whether or not such and such a procedure is acceptable to a Christian or not. For example, it is common today for men to donate their sperm. Is donating sperm permissible for a Christian man (explain your answer Scripturally)?

A Christian couple may have an issue whereby the husband is infertile. Is this Christian couple permitted to undergo artificial insemination of another mans semen? Please explain your response Scripturally.

Where a single Christian woman may want a child, but is unable due to not being married, is she at liberty to undergo artificial insemination so as to become pregnant? Please explain Scripturally your answer.

I will await your response to these questions, with whatever Scriptural response you can provide (perhaps drawing on certain principles and then respond to the questions you posed.

        Thanks for your consideration.

        • Peter K. (admin)

Hi Steven – Thanks for your comments and questions. I agree with you that it is wrong to disfellowship on a blood transfusion issue. Great quote from F199.

Just to clarify, when I stated that “we should be open to whatever Biblical evidence can be presented,” I meant this to apply even when the scriptures don’t directly address the specific question. However, I will add that the more complicated our reasoning, the more chance there can be for a mistake.

I will respond as best as I can to your questions, being open to correction.

          1) Acts 20:15 is drawing from Old Testament teaching which teaches not to eat blood, particularly of animals, however I think the blood of humans would be applied. In any case, Lev 17:10 says “any blood” and that certainly would include human blood.

Lev 17:10 (AV) “And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.”

Deut 12:22-23 (NKJV) “22 Just as the gazelle and the deer are eaten, so you may eat them; the unclean and the clean alike may eat them. 23 Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat.”

Gen 9:3-4 “3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. 4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.”

          See also Leviticus 7:23-27; 17:10-14

          2. I am not sure how whether or not the blood is donated would change the answer in #1 above.

          3. The scriptures are NOT dealing only with the blood of DEAD animals. The Children of Israel were not to consume any blood.

Your final questions relate to donating sperm and artificial insemination in the case of married or single women. A problem with modern science is that they answer the question “can we do it?” but not the question “should we do it?” In the past, if a Christian women could not conceive, she would have to accept it as God’s will. Now mankind is in a limited fashion excising the power of God by intervening when childbirth would otherwise not be possible. I will give you an opinion and I could be wrong. In my view, God clearly set up the family structure of a husband and wife, to parent children and become a family unit. A child being raised by a single parent is at a disadvantage. If a single mom wants a child, adoption might be a better option because even with the disadvantage of a single parent, at least the child would get a parent. I would not pass judgement on these decisions except to say that when we deviate from the arrangement God set up for pro-creation there can be potential consequences. I think that artificial insemination in the case of a married couple would be the best case that can be made.

          • Steven A (Christian)

            Dear Peter K.,

Thanks for the reply and response to my questions.

Unfortunately, your response to the latter few questions I posed wasn’t as detailed as I’d hoped for, and certainly contained no Scriptural arguments. However, I appreciate the fact that you attempted somewhat of a reply—even if your response was somewhat disturbing…

            At any rate, I asked:

‘1. Does the Scriptural admonition to ‘abstain from blood’ relate to animal blood only?’

Your response was essentially ‘no’— human blood was also not to be eaten (I think you meant Acts 15:20). On this we both agree. It is evident that God approved only animal meat for human consumption (Gen. 9:3, 4)—human flesh/blood was never put on the menu to begin with.

Jumping to question 3 first, I asked:

‘3. Are the Scriptures dealing with the blood of dead animals only? If no, does this meant a Christian (or Jew) can drain a bit of blood from an animal (while preserving the animal alive), and drink its blood, or turn the drained blood of the living animal into food to eat?’

            You stated:

‘The scriptures are NOT dealing only with the blood of DEAD animals. The Children of Israel were not to consume any blood.’

On this we can agree—whether or not the animal was alive or dead, its blood should not be consumed. However, you don’t really answer the question from the perspective of whether or not a Christian can eat blood and blood products.

            Going now to question 2:

‘2. Can a Christian make food out of donated human blood (blood sausages, etc.), and eat (or drink) donated blood—if not, why not and what Scriptures would you use to support this?’

            Unfortunately, you simply stated:

‘I am not sure how whether or not the blood is donated would change the answer in #1 above.’

Again, you failed (I feel) to clearly respond to the question from the perspective of Christians (which is key to our discussion).

I interpret your reply to mean, when I look at your response to question 1, that it would be unacceptable for a **Christian** to make food from donated human blood (blood sausages, etc.), or to drink donated human blood – like one would drink a glass of wine- (and this would include blood from a living or dead human being)—is that correct—(I want to be accurate, and crystal clear)?

And to clarify, can a **Christian** drink (like one would drink a glass of wine) animal blood and eat animal blood products (blood sausages, etc.)—whether or not it is from a living or dead animal?

What should be done with blood from living or dead animals? What should be done with blood from living or dead human beings?

On the matter of artificial insemination, unfortunately your responses were lacking. You provided no Scriptural arguments whatsoever (simply your opinion) for your position. So, I must refer the following questions back to you for review (please state clearly if you believe there are no Scriptural principles upon which you can draw):

            1. Is donating sperm permissible for a Christian man (explain your answer Scripturally)?

            2. A Christian couple may have an issue whereby the husband is infertile. Is this Christian couple permitted to undergo artificial insemination by another man’s semen (seed of copulation)? Please explain your response Scripturally.

            3. Where a single Christian woman may want a child, but is unable due to not being married, is she at liberty to undergo artificial insemination (with seed of copulation) so as to become pregnant (regardless of who is the provided of this seed)? Please explain Scripturally your answer (I realise I changed the question slightly… ;).

I appreciate you are busy, and so will await your clear, Scriptural response to each of the questions posed (bearing in mind that the response looked for, critically, is from the position of a Christian).

            _________________

In a previous comment (WELCOME: March 19, 2023 at 10:39 am) you stated:

‘Blood Transfusions are not discussed in the early Watchtowers in Brother Russell’s day, possibly because at that time they were experimental and uncommon.’

            And provided the following questions:

‘1) What does the Bible say that may provide guidance on this topic? (You presented some scriptures to consider)’

I can only point you to the Scriptural verses in the Hebrew law and the Christian New Testament related to blood, and then leave you to decide for yourself whether or not using blood in this way (transfusing it directly into the veins instead of through the mouth) is permissible or not.

            2) What are the health risks or benefits?

A benefit may be that the life of one receiving blood is extended. Whereas, the risk include lung failure, allergic reaction, bacterial infection ( https://www.cdc.gov/bloodsafety/bbp/diseases-organisms.html ), viral infection (HBV, HIV, HCV and syphilis, etc., hemolytic reaction, transfusion overload, iron overload, Graft-Versus-Host Disease*, etc. (the list is extensive). See also:

            https://www.cdc.gov/bloodsafety/bbp/diseases-organisms.html

Also, ‘The Silent Risk of Blood Transfusion’:

            https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18784496/#:~:text=Abstract,renal%20failure%2C%20infection%20and%20malignancy.

            3) In any specific case, is the blood transfusion recommended by the doctor as helpful or absolutely necessary to preserve life?

I can’t give a specific case, but I’m sure that most doctors would always push a patient to have blood and claim the situation is necessary to ‘preserve life’.

              Thanks Steven,

Below are scriptures prohibiting eating blood which I believe you are already familiar with.

De 12:23 “Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat.
De 12:24 “You shall not eat it; you shall pour it on the earth like water.
De 15:23 “Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water.
Ge 9:4 “But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
Le 7:26 ‘Moreover you shall not eat any blood in any of your dwellings, whether of bird or beast.
Le 7:27 ‘Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his people.’”
Le 17:10 ‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
Le 17:11 ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
Le 17:12 “Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.’
              Le 17:13 “Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust;
Ac 15:29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.

              —————————

Now if you cook a steak on a grill, the blood in the steak gets cooked. I don’t think God was telling us to completely dry out the steak.

Wikipedia states “A blood sausage is a sausage filled with blood that is cooked or dried and mixed with a filler until it is thick enough to solidify when cooled. Most commonly, the blood of pigs, sheep, lamb, cow, chicken, or goose is used.” Reading on confirms that in various countries it appears to be cooked. So since it is cooked and solidified this seems like maybe it would be okay except for one thing. Deut 15:23 says, “Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water.” Would this not prohibit eating blood sausage? I would think so. You cannot collect animal blood and pour it back into food, whether cooked or not, because the blood is to be poured on the ground. This too would the prohibit blood products. What do you think?

To clarify my opinion: I don’t think a Christian should drink blood or eat food with uncooked animal blood in it. A Christian should NOT eat uncooked animal blood. No blood of animal or human should be added to food, whether cooked or uncooked. All this would apply to donated blood.

One can argue that “poured out blood” applies to blood used in a blood transfusion. In Biblical times there was no possibility of a blood transfusion. The scriptures are in context of consumption through the mouth. However, I can understand how some would take the scriptures we have discussed to be a prohibition against blood transfusions. If I urged someone who lost blood in an accident not to get a blood transfusion and they died as a result, I would by no means feel confident I had done the right thing, especially if it means children lost a parent or visa versa.

Of course humans should not be killed for their blood. “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind” (Genesis 9:6).

              —————

Regarding artificial insemination, God has ordained that husband and wife, a married couple, be the bearers of children within that covenantal bond of marriage. As long as both the egg and the sperm are from the same married couple, then I can see no problem with this process? What do you think?

If the married couple accepts the sperm from another man (a man outside of the marriage bond with that woman), then she is inviting the intrusion of another man’s seed into herself. In addition, if the process of artificial insemination involves the fertilization of many eggs with only one being implanted in the womb of the mother, this is not acceptable since the other fertilized eggs must then be discarded and destroys human life.

                Dear Peter K.,

Thank you for your further response and the Scriptures given.

Thanks, too for clarifying your position on the eating and drinking of blood as food. I agree with you. I’m in agreement with Pastor Russell’s position, as previously quoted:

                R4374: page 116:

‘It is our opinion, therefore, that these items thus superadded to the Law of Love should be observed by all spiritual Israelites as representing the Divine will. As a matter of fact nearly all the butchering for our markets is in harmony with the Jewish regulations, although many Jews decline to recognize this and eat only such meats as have been inspected and approved by their rabbis.’

Where efforts have been made to drain the blood from meat, then what remains (as in steak) can reasonably be cooked and eaten. (1 Sam. 14:32-35). Certainly blood of any kind should not be collected and turned into a food product to be consumed (or drank).

                You state:

‘One can argue that “poured out blood” applies to blood used in a blood transfusion. In Biblical times there was no possibility of a blood transfusion. The scriptures are in context of consumption through the mouth. However, I can understand how some would take the scriptures we have discussed to be a prohibition against blood transfusions.’

This is one of the arguments Jehovah’s Witnesses do make. And this point about there being no possibility of blood transfusions in Biblical times also brings around to why I posed the questions about artificial insemination. This procedure, too, was not possible in Biblical times – and there appears to be even less regulation to be found in Scripture as to how a man’s ’emission’ can be used.

Does this, then, give the green light for it (e.g., the male emission or ‘seed of copulation’) to be used in any way we see fit, because the Scriptures do not give rules and regulations in every aspect of how it can and cannot be used; or are we supposed to *think*, *reason*, and try to perceive what the Will of God is as respects how it is used?

‘Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.’ (Ephesians 5:17)

But understanding — This requires study of the Lord’s will. R5038:6

By studying principles and precepts of his Word, comparing Scripture with Scripture. R1777:2

                • Steven A (Christian)

The Scriptures inform the Jew (and Christian) what should be done with the blood of an animal – it should normally be poured out as water (not consumed in an way). We agree that human blood should neither be used as food, or consumed/drank, either.

In the past, the drinking of gladiator blood was said to be used to ‘cure’ epilepsy:

                  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12953616/

An interesting Wiki on ‘Medical Cannibalism’ or ‘Corpse Medicine’:

                  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_cannibalism

                  To quote:

‘Blood, specifically, soon evolved to be seen as a substantial elixir, especially fresh, warm human blood because it was believed to still possess the soul of the deceased. For example, it was believed that drinking the blood of a strong person or a wise person would result in increase of strength or wisdom, respectively, because once ingested, the spirit of the deceased connects with that of the consumer and lends it its power.

Although the blood was normally drunk warm and fresh for increased effectiveness, some people preferred to have it cooked. Therefore a recipe of how to turn blood into marmalade was invented. In 1679, a Franciscan apothecary suggested letting the blood partially dry and chopping into small pieces to allow remaining water to seep out. Then, cooking the blood into a batter, before sifting it into a jar.’

So, the eating/drinking of human blood is not hypothetical – this practice has gone on in the past (and probably still does in certain places today).

Perhaps some in past times made similar arguments to defend their medical practices as many appear to do today regarding blood transfusion.

I quote from an article (The Silent Risk of Blood Transfusion) in a link from my previous comment:

‘Summary: The benefits of blood transfusion have never been conclusively demonstrated, but evidence of transfusion-related harm continues to accumulate. Given the transfusion triggers that currently predominate in clinical practice it appears that clinical outcomes could improve significantly with more widespread adoption of restrictive transfusion strategies.’—https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18784496/#:~:text=Abstract,renal%20failure%2C%20infection%20and%20malignancy

However, like you, I’m not going to tell anyone what to do and what not to do as respects blood transfusions. Ultimately, each one needs to make an informed choice of their own. ***We will stand before God for our own choices.***

                  • Steven A (Christian)

In the Pastor’s day, in relation to remaining neutral in the war, and refusing to put on the uniform, the following was stated:

‘”But,” some one replies, “if one were to refuse the uniform and the military service he would be shot.”

We reply that if the presentation were properly made there might be some kind of exoneration; but if not, would it be any worse to be shot because of loyalty to the Prince of Peace and refusal to disobey His order than to be shot while under the banner of these earthly kings and apparently giving them support and, in appearance at least, compromising the teachings of our Heavenly King? Of the two deaths we would prefer the former—prefer to die because of faithfulness to our Heavenly King. Certainly the one dying for his loyalty to the principles of the Lord’s teachings would accomplish far more by his death than would the one dying in the trenches.’—R5754: page 259.

What would the position of modern day ‘Bible Students’ be to this, and other issues? Is there a spirit of compromise, or cowardice? From my own interactions with some ‘Bible Students’, the attitude seems to be that ‘everything goes’. This is particularly the case with former Jehovah’s Witnesses who are now ‘Bible Students’. They seem to believe they have the liberty to do whatever the please, and don’t have to answer to anyone.

                    • Steven A (Christian)

Amongst the ‘Bible Students’ there is no centralised authority and this does lead to an attitude where each individual is a law unto himself. Each Bible Students’ can behave in any manner they see fit (each believing the other – even an elder – has no right to tell the their conduct in some area of their lives in wrong). I’ve heard of cases where adultery has gone unpunished amongst ‘Bible Students’ (the guilty party not even being disfellowshipped).

Some, perhaps many, ‘Bible Students’ believe that saluting the flag is acceptable, as well as singing national anthems, voting and even military service (including former Jehovah’s Witnesses who should really know better). So, where does the ‘Bible Student’ draw the line? When the tests come in the future, with a this spirit of compromise, will the majority be able to withstand when compelled to worship the beast and its image?

                    • Peter K. (admin)

Steven – I agree with you that some Bible Students have taken their Christian liberty too far. In my congregation we would disassociate with an adulterer, however we would encourage them to fully repent, expressing that repentance in a manner not ambiguous to be accepted back into fellowship, with their repentance being demonstrated by their behavior and life over the passage of time. On Amazon you can find a book written by a Bible Student “THE BIBLE REFERENCE GUIDE TO DIVORCE, REMARRIAGE AND ADULTERY” by James Karvs.

                    • Steven A (Christian)

On the matter of artificial insemination, you said:

‘As long as both the egg and the sperm are from the same married couple, then I can see no problem with this process? What do you think?’

                      I agree with the above.

As you explained previously, God setup the marital and family arrangement. Thus, sexual activity inside of marriage between a husband and wife is the only form of acceptable sexual activity permitted. (Matt. 19:4, 5)

                      You further state:

‘If the married couple accepts the sperm from another man (a man outside of the marriage bond with that woman), then she is inviting the intrusion of another man’s seed into herself.’

                      This is exactly right!

‘Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.’ (Hebrews 13:4)

Let the marriage bed be undefiled. F557

For a Christian man to allow his Christian wife to be inseminated with the seed of another man, it would seem to me, to be a defilement. Others can have their won opinion.

A unmarried Christian woman would have no business undergoing artificial insemination (taking the seed of any man not her husband).

‘But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.’ (1 Corinthians 7:36)

                    • Peter K. (admin)

Steven – I think the Bible Students would be better for it if you were among our number.

                    • Peter K. (admin)

Steven – Bible Students have always been conscientious objectors to war and military services on Biblical religious grounds. However we do respect those who in good conscious put on the military uniform with the thought of defending their country. I do not know what your connection is with Bible Students and which ones you have met with. There are independent Bible Student congregations around the world and each Bible Student has the Christian Liberty to draw conclusions for themselves. What keeps us together is our common beliefs as there is no organizational central control. What you say about some Bible Students you have met may be true. It is not true of the Bible Students I meet with. ChicagoBible.org

Christianity is a religion of life, whereas Luciferin worship is a cult of death with blood rituals. Many reports claim that Baal and Moloch worship with child sacrifices and adrenochrome harvesting secretly continue to this day.

                • Peter K. (admin)

Steven – Yes, although direct scripture statements of instruction are preferred and more clear, we can often draw lessons and principles taught in scripture to reasonably deduce an answer where a direct statement is not provided.
