WE BELIEVE

  • Both the Old and New Testament are Jehovah’s inspired words; the primary source of all Truth.
  • Man did not evolve but was created
  • Jehovah created his only-begotten Son, Jesus.  Jesus created all other things.
  • Jesus descended from heaven to earth and was born of Mary as a perfect human man, not as God in flesh.
  • God raised Jesus from death in a Spirit body, not in a physical body of flesh.
  • The Holy Spirit is Jehovah’s active power and force, not a person.
  • The Trinity is no where found or taught in the Bible.
  • Man is mortal and does not possess an immortal soul.  The soul ceases to exist after death.
  • There is no hell of fire where the wicked are punished.  “Hell” is from the same Greek and Hebrew words for “grave,” describing the sleep of death, not eternal torment.
  • We are now living in the ‘time of the end’
  • Jesus returned and has been invisibly present on earth since the early days of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
  • The 144,000 of Revelation 7 are the anointed Bride of Christ in heaven.
  • Earth will never be literally destroyed or completely depopulated
  • In the Kingdom, Christ will rule the earth in righteousness and peace
  • By their faithfulness to God, the obedient of mankind will be granted what our original parents lost—everlasting life in human perfection on a paradise earth.
  • Ultimately, the wicked will be eternally destroyed, but not first without a full opportunity to follow Christ.

This is correct: John 1:1 In the beginning was THE word and THE word was with God and the word was God.

Allan – On the Internet, check out the Blue Letter Bible website and select Interlinear to look up the Greek for 1 John 1:1.

John 1:1 In the beginning was THE word [ho logos] and THE word [ho logos] was with the God [ho theos] and the word was God [theos].

If the passage was saying that the Word was God, it would have said that the Word was the God [ho theos], but it leaves out the article “the” [ho]. There is no article “a” in the Greek language so it is implied here by the absence of “ho,” hence “the Word was a god.” Some commentators argue that without “ho” that “theos” is more like an adjective here and should be translated “the Word was godlike.” In any case, the verses is not saying that the Word was the God. It is either that the Word was a god or else the Word was godlike.

Much of what you “believe” is “beyond the Bible”

Although I haven’t read all of what is on the website here, I’m not yet seeing any difference in what you believe and what JW’s believe. Can you please tell me how you differ?

Searching, Thanks for your question. Here are just some of the differences.

      We beleive…

      1) Jesus dies a RANSOM for ALL (1 Tim 2:4-6), meaning even those who rejected Christ will be resurrected on Paradise Earth and have an opportunity to accept and follow Jesus them.
      2) Many, maybe even most people, will survive Armageddon and be alive as Paradise Earth is being set up
      3) It is wrong to SHUN or DISFELLOWSHIP brethren with honest different points of view
      4) Part of God’s plan was brining the Jewish people back to the land of Israel and reestablishing the nation. Their conversion is yet future after the Bride of Christ is complete (Rom 11:25). It is difficult for JWs to explain how the Jews returned and survived against all odds and reestablished their nation if this is against God’s will.
      5) There is only “one hope” of our “calling” (Eph 4:4), the “high calling” (Phil 3:14) to be part of the Bride of Christ. There is no calling to the Great Company class of Rev 7 & 19.

This is some of the major differences. We would like to hear more of your thoughts or questions if you would like. Thanks.
