Moral Relativism vs. God’s Standards

Prophecy indicates that moral behavior and attitudes in the last days will be much like that of Sodom and Gomorrah.“…in the last days… men will be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…” 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Moral Relativism vs. God’s Standards

We live in an era when moral standards are not absolute but are subject to change, depending on the popular culture of the time. This moral relativism presents a great challenge for Christians to sort out what is truly virtuous.

Unfortunately, in an effort to be progressive, some church attitudes on morality have been negatively influenced by the world’s distorted notions of righteous behavior. The media has brought to this generation the thought of being politically correct, and in an effort to reach out to everyone, it is not uncommon for some of today’s churches to adopt this philosophy and condone all manner of worldly practices such as drunkenness, gambling, unwed couples living together, abortions, adultery and even homosexuality and transgenderism. Pulled along with the popular trends, these churches not only condone, but even invite and applaud behavior which is strictly forbidden under the moral code of conduct set forth in the Bible.

I agree it is an excellent article! However it seems some of our brothers and sister have compromised about homosexuality due to a talk that was given by a brother who seems to imply that if 2 people are in a committed relationship of the same same sex it isn’t really wrong. He tried to imply when the bible speaks of homosexuality, it is speaking of it being part of pagan rituals where violence against others and rape was done. I disagree.

David Thanks. I have not ever heard that taught by Bible Students. The Bible teaches that any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man (husband) and woman (wife) is immoral and a sin.

More on this will be coming soon to this website.

        Brother Peter,
I listened to it. He basically did what any progressive Christina would do. He went j to all the scripture that discuss homosexuality and said they were talking about in context of pagan rituals or straight people going against their nature. I left the talk like “so is being gay ok?” Because we basically went thorough everyone of them and said that they didn’t mean what we thought. I want to say it was Hagensick.

Christopher, remember I posted that talk on facebook and the comments got out of hand. The point of the talk (which some could’t understand) was whether the SCRIPTURES USED by ministers and people were talking about homosexuality. Some brothers were so blinded or homophobic or whatever that we had to erase the conversation on facebook and Br. Peter posted it here. I have listened to it 23 times often with a small audience. One listen and one’s prejudices will come up with the wrong thing that he said. Doctors would have thought most commenters had very little knowledge of human nature, nurture and all things happening before the age of three. Some I let listen to the discourse thought for the year it was given, without the permissive attitudes known today, it was the best scriptural discourse they had ever heard. It was a very emotional discussion on facebook. BTW: It was posted because a Catholic friend of mine wanted to know if all the scriptures thrown at her son were really valid. Listening to it at lease 5 times will help one see what he is saying.

Chris – Thanks. Hagensick talk is here: https://www.friendsofjehovahswitnesses.com/2015/05/14/homsexuality-in-biblical-perspective/

I believe another speaker is being referenced.

The #37 Endtimes article is a very nice to meditate on. For a certainty morality within the Church must be maintained for the individuals bear that responsibility to put on and keep on the disposition of Christ. The classic thought of 2 Tim 3:5 are attributed to the hundreds of millions people who recite the Lords Prayer by rote and perfunctory recitation or solely emotional praises attributed to the Lord. but think also the many non-denomination religions have been raising in the past few decades on the ‘born again’ flagship, yet may not fully understand nor appreciate the implications of Sonship, spirit begettal, or consecration to be truly sanctified.

We should, no, we MUST continually develop, refine, crystallize and mature as New Creatures in Christ putting on HIS mind and spirit from Our Heavenly Father, Jehovah. We ARE spiritual persons, because our minds walk according to the spirit of God only by his undeserved loving-kindness and grace that we have this unique and precious relationship with HIM.

May Our Lord receive the honor, glory, praise, and might through all past eternity now and forever eternally!

    Agape in Christ,
    Cazenovi
