“A Time of Trouble, Such as Never Was Since There Was a Nation”

Many Bible prophecies predict the conditions and events of our day as signs of the end of the world—today’s headlines written nearly 2,000 years ago. Consideration of these prophecies establishes:

(1) that the Bible is indeed the inspired Word of God;

(2) that we are living in unprecedented times prophesied in Scripture as the “end of the world”; and

(3) that man is standing at the threshold of lasting peace and economic security in a pollution-free earth.

Daniel 12:1 and 4 give four signs that mark the “time of the end,” or end of the world:

(1) A time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation;

(2) Many shall run to and fro;

(3) Knowledge shall be increased; and

(4) Your (Daniel’s) people (Israel) delivered.

    Mr Harris.

Your right on track! It’s downright scary how an organization that claims to be gods sole channel on earth can capitalise on certain Scripture and deeds.

And let the rest blow by

  • Hi everyone,
This is a matter almost too difficult for me to comment on because of the many diverse opinions they generate. The most potent of these would have to be the 1914 Gentile-Times connection. Does 1914 have any relevance in the outworking of Jehovah’s purpose?
Before I deal with that may I briefly comment on a couple of points raised by the last contributors Jerome Harris, who may be a JW, judging by the multiple signs pointing to that singular conclusion. Jehovah’s Witnesses have used the expression Celestial Phenomena when commenting on Matthew 24:30. A sign in the actual heavenly abode of the reality is simply a useless tautology. A sign in the visible heaven will inform humanity that the 1000 year kingdom is about to me born as the Christ sends out his Angels to collect all the 144000 from death and those still alive.
The inestimable value of the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures is best gleaned from the words of Jesus and Apostles and other contributing writers of the New Testament or Greek Scriptures, who had nothing else to draw from. The Hebrew scriptures were all they had. They provided all the abundant proofs to explain their Good News to the Jews. Like all of us, Jesus knew nothing when he exited Mary’s womb at birth. All he ultimately knew and understood, he learned from his parents, the teachers and priests of the Synagogue and directly from the Scriptures themselves as soon he was able to read and effectively reason on their content. Being a prophet also meant occasional input directly from his Father Jehovah relative to some future matters not covered by the Hebrew scrolls.
Every human who ever lived, lives and yet shall, will be granted a new start to complete the assignment first given to Adam in Genesis 1:26-28. That is what the Bible and Israel are all about as a temporary means to make that happen.
The 1914 end of Gentile Times interconnect was born of love for Jehovah, hope and a fervent desire for a better life. But it is neither true nor relevant.
The Great Tribulation, here from Matthew 24:21 NKJV: 21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” is ONLY upon the world of Israel commencing 70 CE and still continuing even now. No tribulation occasioned by God shall ever be visited upon humanity, for they had no LAW to transgress.
The Gentile times are 1. Gentile rule occurring in the absence of God rule and 2. until the full number of Gentile branches have replaced those broken-off Israel branches – see Romans 11. Both, as well as the Great Tribulation upon the flock of Jacob, run concurrently until the birth of the 1000 Kingdom of heaven manned by the white robed/garmented little flock redeemed from out of disobedient Israel who will be the heavenly Jerusalem along with Jehovah and His Christ. Rev 21-22.
    Nothing complicated about that.
May we all respond positively when that sign appears to invite us to yield to the kingdom.
    Kind regards Dieter

Hi everyone, thought you may be interesed in this:

British Empire Threatens Financial, As Well As Military, Nuclear War Against Russia
    July 29, 2014.
With the announcement of stepped up European and U.S. sanctions against Russia scheduled to be formally announced tomorrow, the British Empire is making it clear that they are prepared to go all the way and try to wipe Russia off the map, both militarily as well as financially. Their threats are as dangerous as they are crazy.

Perhaps most explicit was Wolfgang Muenchau, a top monetarist propagandist of the Financial Times and Der Spiegel, with regular columns there, who in his latest piece in FT Deutschland wrote that the argument that Russia has close to 500 billion euros in reserves and can withstand sanctions, is nonsense.
“We can crush the Russian economy in weeks,”
he bragged, by blocking their access to international payment systems—which are owned by the West. Muenchau added:
“Payment systems are the nuclear bombs of the financial war.”
The same message was delivered in yesterday’s decision by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, which fined the Russian government a stunning $51.5 billion for the 1990s Rosneft takeover of Yukos oil company from Russian oligarch Khodorkovsky —twenty times larger than any previous verdict. In its coverage, the Financial Times quotes
“a person close to Mr. Putin [who] said the Yukos ruling was insignificant in light of the bigger geopolitical stand-off over Ukraine. ‘There is a war coming in Europe,’ he said. ‘Do you really think this matters?'”
City of London mouthpiece Ambrose Evans Pritchard, writing in today’s Daily Telegraph, gloats that the Yukos case can be used to drive Russia into a sovereign default—as the British Empire is also trying to do with Argentina. While Yukos et al will not be able to pursue foreign bond holdings of the Russian Central bank or other state assets, he writes, they will nonetheless attack assets of state owned companies which they claim act as instruments of the state, and they will pursue Rosneft, which expropriated Yukos assets. They will also go after the British oil giant BP indirectly, because it owns 20 percent of Rosneft shares. Lawyers for Yukos will now file asset seizure claims in 150 individual countries that are involved.

    Evans-Pritchard concludes happily:
“Russian external debt (state, banks and companies) rises to $770 billion at a stroke. Refusal to pay will at some point become a sovereign default.”

Do you believe 1914 was the year the world changed?

“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.” Matthew 24:7 and 8.

Did Jesus know what he was talking about?
If you see good news in those two verses, what would it be?
And does anyone think God has a nation, that are involved in the fighting?

  • “The Bible” does not utter prophecy, God does.

Concerning “signs” of the end times, this a gross error. Jesus did not say that there would be signs (plural), he said that there would be “a sign,” a single event that would signal the his presence and the end of his presence. (Matthew 24:3)

The question asked by his disciples at Matthew was not for “signs.” (Plural)

“While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

See that? “The Sign” (a single event, not a series of events).

His disciples where not asking Jesus about the end of this world we live in today. They were asking Jesus about the “beginning” and the “end” of his Kingdom of 1000 years that would come.

Did Jesus answer their question by telling them about “The Sign?” Yes he does. He does this at Matthew 24:30:

“And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Notice that Jesus says “the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven.” So Jesus did not give a series of events that would signal the beginning of his Kingdom over the earth (return or presence), he gave a SINGLE event AND he said that it would not appear on earth; but that it would appear or be seen in heaven. In other words, no human will see this sign. It will be witnessed only by the angels in heaven.

A clue as to “what” that single event or sign is can be seen in the statement: “they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

This does not say any human will see the sign does it? Yet, we are told here that Christ comes on the clouds of heaven (out of heaven) with POWER AND GREAT GLORY. There is the clue.

If Christ comes with Great Power and Glory what does that make him when he comes? A King! He comes with kingly power and glory.

So “The Sign” or single event seen only in heaven and by those residing there (angels) is Christs coronation as earth’s king.

When the Most High God places that crown on His Son’s head, it is not done down here on earth, it is done where God and Christ are: In heaven.

So Jesus is telling is disciples at Matthew 24:3 that when he is coronated as king in heaven that is when he returns or this is the beginning of his 1000 year kingdom reign over the earth. That coronation is “The Sign” appearing in heaven (not on earth)

His disciples knew that his 1000 year kingdom would be a “definite” one and would end after the 1000 years. So they wanted to know when it would “begin.” That what they were asking Jesus at Matthew 24:3.

The world at large has this wrong, too. They are applying Jesus’ words to our time period of today.

To show how arrogant and blind and stubborn many have become, they even go as far and providing “signs” such as earthquakes, pestilence, famine, war, etc. THEY are saying this. Jesus, however, was asked “what sign” and he answered and listed that “sign”. (Matthew 24:30)

I tell you what all of this is: It is men NOT listening to Christ as God directed at Luke 9:35. They listen to each other.

Also, it is a gross mistake to consult the Prophets of old. The Most High did not send them to us and He did not tell us to listen to them. He sent His Son and he has commanded that we listen to His Son.

It is for this simple reason many have been misled concerning this topic and great many others.
