CHARDON, Ohio (The Blaze/AP) – The death toll rose to three Tuesday in the shooting rampage in an Ohio high school cafeteria as schoolmates and townspeople grappled with the tragedy and wondered what could have set the teenage gunman off.

Comment from Christian Questions Facebook page a few weeks ago:

My son who was born with cerebral palsy just died. He was sick for 2 weeks before he passed. During those 2 weeks we prayed and prayed for his recovery. He passed anyways. Why did god forsake me and take my son?

Losing a loved one – especially a child can bring unbearable pain and anxiety.  It can cause us to question even those things we hold dearest – even the existence and plan of God.  This morning we will look into this grief and into God’s plan to try and understand where God is when tragedy strikes…

where is God when tragedies strike ?
I have come to the conclusion: that mankind is dead in the eyes of God my reasons, Rom 7:2 O wretched man that I am ! who shall deliver me from the body of this death ? I asked myself are we dead in the eyes of God ? is that why there is so much suffering and pain on earth ?? We pray and ask but receive not,
Then I found in Mat 8:22 But Jesus said to him, follow me, and allow the dead to bury there own dead. From Gods standpoint the entire race, under sentence of death, is treated as though already dead?? We may properly recognize an additional and still broader meaning in the Apostle’s words: namely that the entire human family was included in the expression “the dead”
Rom 6: 7 for the one that died has been justified from sin.

Doug, my heart hurt when I heard the Asia plane crashed whole families gone. But I looked to God and said please help us as i saw mothers faint.
Jehovah saw his own Son tortured and dragging log thru the street and nailed to a cross, a torture chamber.
That experience God suffered lets me know he cares. The darkness was his pain. It had to be done that way for reasons we don’t understand now.
But talk to him Doug, help is on the way. Our whole life follows a timetable. Babies gestate 9 months, why?
It will seem as yesterday we suffered when we live for 20,000 years. He cares Doug. Just hold on, we will be done with sin forever.
I personally believe we are at the beginning of his creation on worlds and we will have been in a special position when he is all finished. But the tragedy of the plane got to me, also.

I too felt terrible for those people and moreso for the families that were left behind.

Thank goodness the Scriptures teach that even ungodly non-Christians will have an opportunity for salvation. If God was trying to convert the world today, I’d say he wasn’t doing a good job at it.

The truth well this is what jws say they are the fact that a religion claims there the truth is very wrong in itself no religion has complete truth for even the bible itself is missing it’s true completeness for it has been released and translated so many times it is missing things in Jerusalem are the oldest scrolls they are the most accurate religion is man made Jesus Christ said he was the truth not a religion we can be students of the word and follow Christ but religion makes for a stumbling block if we want truth we should follow Jesus

    • Daz

Well said Shannon, I said very much the same not long ago, I agree!
All that religion has done is create confusion.

      Warm & loving regards,
      Daz

Daz – I agree with you in terms of organized religion. I would like to throw out a challenge to you. If you were to read the “Divine Plan of the Ages” carefully from beginning to end, I will bet that you will will not be able to identify any other one book that more clearly and correctly explains God’s plan as presented in the Bible.

If after completing the reading of the entire book, you can identify another book that in your honest opinion more clearly explains God’s plan as presented in the Bible, then I will post on picture on this website of me eating my hat. LOL

      Hi Shanon,
I agree with you concerning organized religion. I do have a question that I always get confused about when someone states we are to follow Jesus and yet the Bible is not to be trusted.

Question: If not the Bible, where do you find out about Jesus and what He asks of us? Can you read the old scrolls?

I understand how different translations usually have an agenda behind them. But there is no other book out there that I can consider to be the inspired writings we consider Scripture. Help me here.

      Sincerely,
      Br. Chuck

      • QNA ....

        Chuck,
That’s exactly what I was thinking. 🙂 The bible is all we have to read God’s word. If we can’t trust in it then we, (humans) are lost.
