In 2010, a new Elder’s book – “Shepherd the Flock of God” – was released. You can find a copy by clicking here. A large portion of the book is devoted to the procedure for judicial committees and disfellowshipping. This book is for elders only, as made clear in Letter to Elders, August 23, 2010, which states: “The information is designed for use by the elders only, and other individuals should not have any opportunity to read the information.”
Sisters are not allowed to even bind it under supervision, as directed in the following quote from the Letter to Elders, October 7, 2010:
“There is no objection if an elder personally spiral binds or laminates his own textbook or does so for other elders. If he has another baptized brother who is not an elder do the work for him, the elder must watch while the work is being done. Outside companies, unbelievers, or sisters are not permitted to do this work. The material in the book is confidential, and confidentiality must be preserved.”

I appreciate your zeal for JW & your feelings that they are the Only True Christians. I am sure you are very devoted to the worship of Jehovah & following in the footsteps of Christ Jesus. So am I as well. I commend you for your loyalty.I have been associating with these Bible Students for a few months & I am personally amazed with my own eyes seeing them at their sincerity & their devotion to Jehovah God. There is no way they cannot be inspired by Jehovah!I had been a JW elder for some time & would try my best to follow the direction of proceedures found in this secret book. Being an imperfect world with imperfect ppl the direction is not always followed.And I would eyewitness sum atrocities.As free moral agents, it is important that individuals recognize what they are joining if they’re seeking to join an organization of any kind,to see whats involved.Can they live up to its requirements?I believe these Bible Students here on this site are sincerely trying to help others to make a consciencious choice, before they mite not of realized whats involved & then recognize there is no safe way out emotionally. This mite be fine for sum & not fine for others.But we all have free will to decide for ourselves. These individuals are human beings created by Jehovah also that will no doubt benefit from Jehovahs mercy with the whole human race.There is no way our God doesnt recognize them as his followers.If there is a doubt in your heart then come & fellowship with them.They have treated me & my family with Christlike love & respect.They are very careful not to condemn others to destruction so fast. They dont use methods of fear,guilt & shame making ppl feel worthless in Gods eyes.That is something I havent felt how good that feels to my soul in a Very L-o-n-g time.Jesus said you would recognize his true followers by the LOVE they would display. & also a Worthless tree cannot produce fine fruit,by their fruits you will recognize them.That is scriptural!Our God reads their hearts & even down deep into the kidneys.These Bible Students ARE true followers of Christ & our Heavenly Father Jehovah.My prayers to the Father have been answered.Please pray for Him to let You see if thats true or not.Never underestimate the Power of Prayer.

Bill what is wrong? Do you have to meet with them? Tell us your story without using your name. Maybe there is a better solution. Like if you have family in the JW, maybe you want to walk away, refuse to meet. It is your choice but it is like going against a lion with a fork. But then again it could be liberating but let comments from the site help you talk it out if possible or we will give you a number to talk directly.
I am just so sorry you have to go to court (judicial is a legal term) without representation. Jesus accepts you without you having to be DF, it means nothing to God. But it can cause you mental anquish and your family. We will wait for your reply. Br. Peter is standing by waiting also.

I’m so sorry u hav 2 b experiencing this judicial committee.It is no fun! I pray 4 u that whatever the Lords will take place.I read the flock book.i was an elder. Keep in mind this is a guidebook of procedures 4 the elders.It doesnt mean that the guidance will be followed wen u hav imperfect judges who judge according to their feelings,what they’ve heard from others or if you’re in their clique or not.Some of these men lack Christlike emotion.You may get those types or you may hav a loving elder in the committee.Its like a roll of the dice.I happened 2 get one who was stronger & taller than I who had been punching me in the kingdom hall parking lot wen he surveyed that the coast was clear.Another that was harrassing me with threats I cant tell u how many times & another who had a bad temper & lacked self restraint with his tongue,in fact all three wood twist scriptures masterfully.i had the short end of the stick.In fact the 3 were known as bulldogs, the 3 worst.The others lacked their experience so begged off from judicial matters while these 3 exerted immense power by how they carried themselves.They wood DF the repentant while allowing cheating spouses to continue their adultery while privately reproving them because their wives had been very close in friendships. They followed me in the hall standing over my head carefully observing if I’d alert the cong.as 2 how they were abusing me.All that I’d talk 2 they were like on top of me. They made announcements that were boldface lies that I was resisting them,that I was argumentative & not humble.Things that were the furthest from the truth.If I only thought of recording them I know it wood of lead 2 their removal IF they weren’t close friends with the circuit overseers,for they were known 2 buy expensive suits for the CO’s & provide for their needs clouding their judgement.Pray 2 Jehovah for yourself 2 keep calm under evil & pray 4 those individual elders by name telling Heavenly father bout their individual personalities.If U decide 2 meet with them, as they no doubt hav pressured u 2 believe u must meet with them,&if it goes south….perhaps Jehovah is leading u 2 another path…like here with the Bible Students. I came bak to JW after they threw me out dispite court documentation of my ex wife’s fraudeleunt behavior.i played very humble cause that is my nature while they made fun of me,taunted me,sed things about Jehovah never wanting me.Yet they condoned my wifes cheating on me,psycological abuse,&her slander which they wouldn’t let me speak & sed they control the appeal committee & that if I appeal they wood never reinstate me.Eventually after them ignoring me eventually my new cong had faught 4 my return even 6 elders telling me they dealt fraudelantly with me & unjustly expelled me after they looked @ the court evidence that was ignored in the other hall.So I came back thru utter humiliations.But Jehovah was showing me that look I tried my best 2 make it work in JW.But they kept abusing me.Then after prayer I found the Bible Students that showed me Jesus.Showed me scriptures.Taught me how much of a beautiful Heavenly Father Jehovah God really is & that in the jw world it was very narrow minded.Fear, shame & abuse seemed to rule while now with the Bible Students I hav experienced Liberty/freedom,feelings I hav never known in jw my whole life.I pray the Lords will take place for u in your journey…
Can I please get a copy of the shepard book. I have had a JW lady come to my house for about a year now, super nice lady by the way. I have had questions about some of the things they teach. For instance the 144,000 who go to heaven when in the bible it says 12,000 of a tribe, several times to make up the 144,000. When I asked her why the bible said that and not who she says, she didnt have an answer. I by no way putting down the JW, I just have questions that cant be answered. Also, how can you believe somebody who says they are of the 144,000?
Hello Allison, I sent you the book, this enables you to be familiar with the inner workings of the organization before you join. These are the additional procedures to the bible that you might encounter.
The book is not doctrinal however, just procedures on how to handle problems in the congregation, the authorities, etc.
