Conference Calls

Bible Students are hosting live interactive Conference Calls and webcasts.  Some of these can be found at another site here:  Saturday Conference Calls.   You are invited to join us.  Our purpose is not to attack JWs.  We would like to have an open and friendly two-way dialogue with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Ex-JWs in these Webcasts and Conference Calls.  In the Webcasts, our Abdobe Connect technology will allow you to anonymously type questions, comments and testimonies without fear of being identified by your local Elder, Circuit Overseer or the Governing Body.  You will even be able to talk directly to us using your computer microphone.   There is no charge for these events.  If you cannot attend we will post a recording here.  You will also have the option of talking to the host and guest after the interview, which will be for at least an hour.

What is your stance on immoral sexual behavior such as homosexuality premarital sex adultry divorce out of wedlock birth rate all the things the bible condemns . Do you join political parties such as the republican party or the Democratic Party . Do you celebrate the old pagan Roman holiday of Christmas December 25th the celebration of the pagan Roman Sun God Saturnalia ? Just curious . Please reply .

Thank you for raising these important points. I’ll try to address them carefully.

      The Cross:
While many associate it with Christianity, its origins and use in pagan cultures long before Christ are well documented. The Scriptures emphasize Christ’s sacrificial death, not the instrument itself. True worship focuses on the ransom, not symbols. Early Christians did not venerate the cross. The investigation into cross verses torture stake is complex and you can find more information at this link: https://www.beyondwatchtower.com/?s=torture+stake

      Immoral Sexual Behavior:
Biblical standards of morality are upheld, condemning sexual immorality including premarital sex, adultery, and other forms of fornication as outlined in Scriptures like 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Hebrews 13:4. Homosexuality is viewed through the lens of passages such as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27, which describe such acts as contrary to God’s design for human relations. Divorce is regrettable and often tied to human failings, with the Bible permitting it in cases like adultery (Matthew 19:9), though the ideal is lifelong fidelity in marriage as per Genesis 2:24. Out-of-wedlock births stem from fornication and are discouraged, with emphasis on repentance and pursuing purity. Personal scandals or allegations do not alter the scriptural call to holiness, but leaders are expected to exemplify moral integrity.

      Political Parties:
Christians are warned against entanglement in worldly political systems, including joining parties like the Republican or Democratic Party, as this could divide loyalties from God’s Kingdom. The focus should be on spiritual matters and proclaiming the coming Millennial reign, remaining neutral in human governments (John 17:16; Daniel 2:44). Our hope is not in present political systems, but in God’s Kingdom. Human governments may accomplish some good, but they cannot bring lasting peace or righteousness. True Christians therefore give their primary allegiance to Christ, waiting for his reign to bless all the families of the earth (Genesis 22:18).

      On Christmas:
The exact day of our Lord’s birth is not revealed in Scripture, and December 25 was indeed connected with heathen customs. Nevertheless, there is nothing sinful in setting aside a day to remember and rejoice in the birth of our Savior. As with the memorial of his death, the great point is to keep the heart fixed on the meaning — God’s gift of His Son for the world’s salvation (Luke 2:10–11; John 3:16). If a Christian family finds joy in using that season to reflect on these blessings and share goodwill, there is liberty in doing so. Regarding Christmas and holiday celebrations, you can find more at this link: https://www.beyondwatchtower.com/2018/12/01/was-j-f-rutherford-the-grinch-the-stole-christmas/

In all these things, our aim is to glorify God and to live in harmony with the spirit of Christ — not bound by the traditions of men, nor judging one another in matters where the Scriptures leave liberty (Romans 14:5–6).
